St. Lukes Lutheran School

Student Services

At St. Luke's, we are proudly committed to the spiritual welfare and education of the children enrolled in its school. We strive to help each child develop his or her potential: mentally, physically, and spiritually. St. Luke's has resources to assist with the development in all areas for your child(ren).

School Counselor

The School Counselor is a vital member of the education team. Their role helps all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal and social development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. School counselors are an important part of the educational leadership team and provide valuable assistance to students. While most of the counselor's time is spent in direct service to and contact with students, they also focus on the overall delivery of the total program through guidance curriculum, individual student planning and responsive services.

School Nurse

A student's health status is directly related to his or her ability to learn. Children with unmet health needs have a difficult time engaging in the educational process. St. Luke's school nurse, Mrs. Terri Nunkovich, supports student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children at St. Luke's. The school nurse addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process. Not only does Mrs. Nunkovich provide for the safety and care of students and staff but also addresses the need for integrating health solutions into the education setting.

The school nurse serves in a pivotal role to provide expertise and oversight for the provision of school health services and promotion of health education. Using clinical knowledge and judgment, the school nurse provides health care to students and staff, performs health screenings. The school nurse serves as a liaison between school personnel, family, community and healthcare providers to advocate for health care and a healthy school environment
