At St. Luke's, students utilize and interact with a wide variety of technology tools in the classroom as part of their everyday curriculum to enhance their learning, develop their skills, and demonstrate their knowledge. No matter if a student is in a Pre-K classroom or a middle school elective class, students are learning about and with technology from day one. Opportunities involve collaborating with peers globally, complex problem solving and in-depth, authentic research. Beginning in the Pre-K classrooms, teachers are equipped with Interactive Whiteboards, student laptops and tablets, and advanced listening centers. Every classroom in the elementary and middle school is equipped with an interactive whiteboard and digital projector.
Additionally, all K-8 students have access to Chromebook carts. Also, all of our students starting in 3rd grade become users of the G Suite of tools, formerly known as Google Apps for Education which play a key role in their communication and collaboration while they are at St. Luke's. Most recently, we have begun the process of creating and integrating our new DesignLab where students will get hands-on experience with a 3D printer, mobile app development, robotics, and many other exciting tools. Finally, looking forward we are anticipating major changes with the implementation of more Chromebooks and mobile devices to further equip students and teachers for the changing world around them.
